On the other hand, the system itself can be configured to report important events that require attention of maintenance personnel by generating e-mail or SMS messages to their mobile phones.

Crew members can access all the necessary information when checking in at kiosk terminals: flight program, flight plan for the next period complete with routes and fellow crew members, days-off, stand-by duties and various notes regarding special situations. Besides the plan personal information on past duties, flight log, monthly balance for the last 12 months, monthly training reports, last checks and block times statistics are also available.
Much of this information can also be reached from home or travel accessing the company intranet.
The intensive support of the Internet introduced new possibilities to access data at remote locations, offices, to share information with partners or make it reachable for managers on their business trips.
